ZHAO Mengna

ZHAO Mengna is from Wuhan, China. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy in 2016 and master’ degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry in 2019 both from Wuhan University. And then she pursues her PhD in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at PolyU in molecular and cellular engineering. She has broad knowledge and specialized techniques in biochemical and molecular biology, and neuroscience. In the past years, she was mainly engaged in the functional study of pathogenic genes of Alzheimer's disease such as APP, SORL1 and TOM40, etc, by using CRISPR/Cas9 technology generating single and double knockout cell and animal models (HeLa cells and SD rat models)  and combining cytology, biochemistry and molecular biology methods. She currently joins Dr. ZHAO XIN’s group and primarily focuses on osteogenesis and neovascularization as well as nerve tissue engineering by unitizing microfluidics, electrospray and 3D printing techniques and integrated biomaterials. In her spare time, she prefers yoga, jogging, traveling, food, watching movies, and listening to music, etc.
