She is recognised in the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2022” by Clarivate Analytics and “The World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023” by Stanford University, for her significant research impact. She is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars 2021, President’s Award-Outstanding Young Researcher 2022, the Mid-Career Award of Chinese Association for Biomaterials 2022, and the Biomaterials Award for Young Investigator 2024 by Elsevier Ltd. Her research product “Biomimicking Photocrosslinkable Nanocomposite Bone Grafts” has won the Silver Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2021, 2023 TechConnect Global Innovation Award and the Gold Medal at the 6<span style="box-sizing: border-box; vertical-align: baseline; position: relative; font-size: 13.5014px; line-height: 0; top: -0.5em;">th</span> China (Shanghai) International Exhibition of Inventions 2023. </span><span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: black;">This research product has also secured financial support from the Incu-Bio Programme (HK$ 4 million) from The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and TSSSU-O from Innovation and Technology Comission (HK$ 500 k) for clinical translation of the revolutionary materials.</span><span style="box-sizing: border-box;"> Additionally, she has successfully attracted over 20 grants (⁓23 million) as principal investigator from the Hong Kong RGC (including the </span><span style="box-sizing: border-box;">highly</span><span style="box-sizing: border-box;"> competitive CRF, NSFC-RGC), HMRF, ITF, NSFC, etc. She is also a founding editor of <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Engineered Regeneration</em>, associate editor of </span><em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Mater. Today Bio</em><span style="box-sizing: border-box;"> and </span><em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Bio-Des. <p style=";text-align:justify;text-justify: inter-ideograph;line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">Dr. Yuhe Yang is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He obtained his bachelor and master’s degree in Materials Process Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 2014 and 2016 and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2020. Before the current appointment, he works as the Postdoctoral Research Fellow in PolyU. He has substantial research experience in biofabrication, biomaterials and tissue engineering, where he leverages multi-disciplinary approaches to modulate the interaction among the functional compartments including cells, biomaterials and biomolecule ranging from molecular, cellular to tissue scales.</span></p><p style=";text-align:justify;text-justify: inter-ideograph;line-height:normal"><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">So far, </span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">he has published 24 articles (with 11 as first or co-first authors) in prestigious journals including <em>Nat. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Biomaterials, Small</em>. In addition, he has applied 15 patents (13 granted). He has successfully attracted 2 grants as principal investigator from the National Science Foundation of China and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. </span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">His project “</span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">Biomimicking Photocrosslinkable Nanocomposite Bone Graft” has won the Silver Medal at the Special Edition 2021 Inventions Geneva, </span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif">2023 TechConnect Global Innovation Award, and the Gold Medal at the 6<sup>th</sup> China (Shanghai) International Exhibition of Inventions 2023</span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black"> and has been reported by various media such as Ta Kung Pao and HK 01. He has also won the e-Poster Competition in Hong Kong Musculoskeletal & Biomaterials Summit for Young Scholars 2022 (Only 3 awardees in the competition). Moreover, he has </span><span style="font-size:16px;font-family:'Times New Roman',serif;color:black">founded the start-up company Bonejoy Limited for the clinical translation of his research outputs.</span></p>
