Ho Pan Bei

Bei Ho Pan is from Hong Kong, China. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has extensive experience in theranostic nanoparticle drug delivery. In the past, he has worked on bioprinting and surface modification of stents for improved hemocompatibility. For his work he was co-authored in publications in journals Nanoletters and Small Communication. He joined Zhao’s Lab to work on nanoparticle and electrospun fiber for prevention of hypertophic scarring and he hopes to expand his knowledge with interdisciplinary members in the lab. In his free time Bei Ho Pan enjoys reading fiction, and writing narrative literature.

Yuen Ho Yin (Andy) obtained his bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Biomedical Engineering from HK PolyU in 2020. He joined Dr. Zhao's lab in 2019 in the hope to expand his knowledge by applying his computer science training in biomedical research. He is currently working in the biofabrication subgroup on a project about stem cell behavior in fabricated micro-environment models.

Suo Di is PhD student in Zhao's group. She is from Jiangsu, China. She receives her Master from Jiangsu University in 2020 and bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Normal University in 2016. Her research interests focus on synthetic biology and material science. In the past, she has worked on functionalization of biofilm based on programmable amyloid fiber and its applications. She has already published 2 papers in SCI Journals, AIChE J. and Acs Catalysis and 1 patent. She joins the Zhao Lab to work on Molecular biology and material science utilizing her experience, and she hopes to expand her knowledge through cooperation with the multidisciplinary team. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, listening to music and making coffee.
Liu Huaqian

Liu Huaqian is PhD student in Zhao's group. He was born in Henan, China. He received his BEng in Chemical Engineering and Technics from Harbin University of Science and Technology, China in 2018, and MEng of Chemical Engineering from Northeast Forestry University, China in 2020. he has a broad range of research experience in organic synthesis and characterization, organic-functional materials and fluorescence probe development for chemical sensors. he has published articles in prestigious journals including Advanced Functional Materials and Analytical (please see publications for details).He joined the Zhao's lab in June 2020 as a research assistant. His research interest is biofabrication and development tissue-engineered materials for addressing clinical issues. Mo Yongyi is from Guangdong, China. She will obtain her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University in June 2023 conducting research about 19F MRI probes and antibacterial polymer materials. She will be a postgraduate student in Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in September 2023. Her research interests will be focused on scaffold coating for bone defects. She joins Zhao’s Lab to broaden her knowledge and is willing and excited to work with the multidisciplinary team.
