Yuen Ho Yin (Andy) obtained his bachelor's degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Biomedical Engineering from HK PolyU in 2020. He joined Dr. Zhao's lab in 2019 in the hope to expand his knowledge by applying his computer science training in biomedical research. He is currently working in the biofabrication subgroup on a project about stem cell behavior in fabricated micro-environment models.

Liu Huaqian is PhD student in Zhao's group. He was born in Henan, China. He received his BEng in Chemical Engineering and Technics from Harbin University of Science and Technology, China in 2018, and MEng of Chemical Engineering from Northeast Forestry University, China in 2020. he has a broad range of research experience in organic synthesis and characterization, organic-functional materials and fluorescence probe development for chemical sensors. he has published articles in prestigious journals including Advanced Functional Materials and Analytical (please see publications for details).He joined the Zhao's lab in June 2020 as a research assistant. His research interest is biofabrication and development tissue-engineered materials for addressing clinical issues. He is excited to work in this interdisciplinary environment for expanding his knowledge and developing technologies for human health. Liu Qi is from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Tiangong university in 2019 and master’s degree from Nankai university in 2022. In the past, he worked on projects focusing on synthesizing enzyme responsive donor of bioactive gas. He joins the Zhao's lab to work on fabrication and application of biomedical materials. Gu Huiwen

Huiwen is a research assistant and an incoming Ph.D. student who will join Professor Xin Zhao’s group in Fall 2026. She received her Master of Medicine from Southeast University and her Bachelor of Medicine from Zhengzhou University. Her research interests focus on tissue engineering and biomedical engineering. She looks forward to expanding her training and exploring new approaches to improve human health in the Zhao Lab.
