Maria Gan is from Hong Kong. She received her B.Sc. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), a PgA in International Technology Management from The University of Warwick, an M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from PolyU, and an M.Sc. degree in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology from City University of Hong Kong. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at PolyU and submitted her thesis in March 2023. In addition to her studies, she has worked in the beauty and cosmetics industry and has extensive experience in operations management with marketing. She joined Dr. Zhao’s team in April 2023 and is excited to work in a multidisciplinary environment to translate research into successful products to improve patient healthcare. Outside of work, she enjoys catching up with friends, watching movies, and travelling with her family.
