Aun Raza

Dr. Aun Raza is a Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of
Biomedical Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  He holds a
PharmD degree (Doctor of Pharmacy) from Bahauddin Zakariya University,
Multan (Pakistan). He got a full Scholarship from the China Scholarship
Council (CSC) to study Master of Pharmacognosy at Jiangsu University,
Zhenjiang (China). Later, He was awarded the Australian Government RTP
Scholarship from The University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane (Australia)
to complete his Ph.D. and got his first postdoctoral training from UQ.
Based on the training he has received during his Ph.D. and Postdoc at
UQ, he has developed a unique skill set that span across materials
science (nanomaterials fabrication and characterization), drug delivery,
cell culture model development, and biomedical engineering. His
interdisciplinary research program has generated knowledge impact
through peer-reviewed publications (total publications 26, citations
598, H-index 13– GS Sep 2022) in top-tier journals including Trends in
Biotechnology, Acta Biomaterialia, Drug Discovery Today, Materials Today
Advances, Pharmaceutics, Nano Impact, ACS Biomaterials Science &
Engineering, and International Journal of Pharmaceutics, etc.

His
research influence in the field of Nanomedicine, particularly in the
development of oral nanoformulations has been recognized by the
scientific community in his field and he was awarded a trainee of the
month (April 2021) and Young Scientist Award 2022 (3rd Position) by the
Controlled Release Society (oral delivery- focus group). His emerging
professional leadership is highlighted by his induction (1 of only 8
members selected in 2021) into the inaugural early career researchers
(ECR) committee of the Australian Chapter of the Controlled Release
Society. As part of his efforts to promote his research and grow his
network, he was selected as a board member of the international focus
group on oral drug delivery. He has also successfully delivered oral and
poster presentations at top drug delivery conferences in Australia and
around the globe including the Controlled Release Society (2020, 2021),
Controlled Release Society-Australian local chapter (2019, 2020, 2021)
Australian Society of Molecular Imaging (2021), and Australasian
Pharmaceutical Science Association (2021). Currently, He has been
invited to be a guest editor (Aug. 2022 – Feb. 2023) for Pharmaceutics
(Q1, 20/177 SJR) for a special issue on ‘Smart Drug Delivery Strategies
Based on Porous Materials”.
