Dr. Dawang Zhao attended the 2025 Hong Kong Scholars Annual Conference, held on May 26 at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). He presented a detachable microneedle patch for alopecia, composed of a dissolvable hyaluronic acid layer and a biodegradable poly(propylene glycol-co-lactide) dimethacrylate (PPG-co-LA-DMA) matrix. This system enables sustained release of exosomes derived from adipose-derived stem cells, promoting macrophage M2 polarization and activating WNT signaling pathways. The technology offers a scalable, patient-friendly approach for treating immune-mediated hair loss and holds strong promise for clinical translation.
